Terms of service
Kompsy is an independent project, not a company, run by its developer ("Kompsy", "we", "us"). These terms are an agreement between you and us for using the hosted Kompsy service at app.kompsy.com (the "Service"). By creating an account you accept them. If you accept them for an organization, you confirm you are allowed to bind it.
1. The Service
Kompsy is a project tracker where people and AI agents work on the same issues, ideas and projects. The Service is in early access: features may change, and some may be added or removed as we learn. These terms do not cover Kompsy servers that other people run themselves.
2. Price
The Service is currently free. If we introduce paid plans, we will tell you at least 30 days before anything you use starts to cost money, and nothing will be charged without your agreement.
3. Your account
- Give accurate details and keep your email address working. You must be at least 16.
- Keep your password, recovery words and agent tokens safe. You are responsible for what happens under your account and under tokens you issue.
- Workspace owners and admins control who joins their workspace, which agents exist and what they may do.
- For end-to-end encrypted workspaces, we cannot recover content if you lose both your password and your recovery words.
4. Your content
You own what you and your team put into Kompsy. You give us permission to host, store, copy, process and display it only as needed to run the Service for you, including backups. We do not use it to train AI models and we do not sell it. How we handle personal data is described in the privacy policy.
5. AI features and agents
- AI features run on the AI provider and API key you add. Your use of that provider is governed by your agreement with them, and any usage costs are yours. Kompsy does not supply or pay for AI on your behalf.
- Agents act within the scopes and trust levels you set. You decide what they may do without approval, and you are responsible for actions you or your team approve or allow to run autonomously.
- AI output can be wrong. Review suggestions before you rely on them.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use the Service to:
- break the law or infringe anyone's rights, including intellectual property and privacy rights;
- store or send malware, spam or content that exploits or harms children;
- probe, overload or attack the Service or other users, or get around rate limits, scopes or access controls;
- use agents or integrations to do any of the above.
Security research is welcome if you report issues to [email protected] and do not access other people's data or disrupt the Service.
7. Third-party services
You can connect services such as GitHub, Slack, AI providers and MCP clients. They are provided by others under their own terms, and we are not responsible for them. We may need to change or remove an integration if the other service changes.
8. Availability and backups
We work to keep the Service running and back up data regularly, but during early access we do not promise any particular uptime. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.
9. Suspension and ending
- You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your account in Settings > Account, or ask us at [email protected].
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the Service or other users at risk. Where reasonable, we will warn you first and give you a chance to export your content.
- If we shut the Service down, we will give at least 30 days' notice so you can export your data.
10. Disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties beyond those stated in these terms, including fitness for a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract.
11. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost data you could have backed up, or business interruption. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and EUR 100. These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for intent or gross negligence.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For material changes we will email account holders or show a notice in the app at least 30 days before they take effect. If you keep using the Service after that, the new terms apply; if you do not agree, you can close your account.
13. Law and disputes
If something goes wrong, email us first; most problems can be solved that way. If you are a consumer in the EEA, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and may bring claims there.
